Most international travelers to Azerbaijan must apply for a visa to enter the country. There are different visa types, depending on the individual’s travel plans.
Children visiting Azerbaijan must also follow the current visa policy. Without the correct travel documents, children could be refused entry.

Do children need a visa to Azerbaijan?
Yes, children of all ages must have a valid visa to enter Azerbaijan. This is part of the nation’s immigration protocol, and a mandatory requirement.
Children without an Azerbaijan visa do not meet the entry requirements, and therefore cannot travel to Azerbaijan.
Are there any exceptions for the Azerbaijan visa requirement for children?
The only exception for Azerbaijan’s visa policy is if the child is from a visa exempt country.
This means that the child falls under a nationality that can travel to Azerbaijan without a visa.
There are currently 10 visa exempt countries, which are:
- Belarus
- Georgia
- Kazakhstan
- Kyrgyz
- Moldova
- Uzbekistan
- Russia
- Tajikistan
- Ukraine
- Turkey
Citizens of these countries can travel to Azerbaijan without a visa and stay there for up to 90 days.
Azerbaijan e-Visa for Children
The Azerbaijan e-Visa, or ASAN visa, is the easiest way for children to travel to Azerbaijan. It is an electronic visa that travelers can obtain completely online, using the electronic e-Visa service.
The e-Visa permits the holder to stay in Azerbaijan for up to 30 days. Children can use the travel document for tourism and other short-term visits.
Can children be included on an adult’s Azerbaijan e-Visa?
No, children must have their own separate visa for Azerbaijan. They cannot be added to their accompanying adult’s e-Visa.
There is no option to group visa applications together. A new form must be completed for each traveler, even if they are a minor.
Azerbaijan e-Visa Requirements for Children
It is necessary to check Azerbaijan’s current visa requirements, to ensure all of them are met by the traveler.
To apply for the Azerbaijan electronic visa, applicants must have the following prepared:
- Valid passport
- Email address
- Debit or credit card
The passport can either be the child’s own passport, or the passport they are included on.
An accompanying adult can use their own email address if the child does not have one, and make the payment on the minor’s behalf.
Azerbaijan passport requirements
Each child’s passport, or the passport they are included on, must be valid for at least 6 months from the expected date of arrival in Azerbaijan.
The same passport must be used for the e-Visa application and for traveling.

The application process for the Azerbaijan e-Visa is entirely online. It can be completed in 3 simple steps:

The Azerbaijan e-Visa application form is quick and easy to complete.
Applicants simply need to fill in the form with basic information, including:
- Full name
- Date of birth
- Passport details
- Email address
- Travel information
The application should be completed at least 3 working days before traveling to Azerbaijan.
Who can complete the Azerbaijan e-Visa for minors?
For children who are unable to complete the e-Visa application form themselves—for example, if they are too young—a parent or guardian can apply for the visa on the minor’s behalf.
The accompanying adult must ensure that all the child’s details are correct and true. Any mistakes on the application form can lead to delays, or even a refused visa.
Children traveling to Azerbaijan with an e-Visa
Once the approved Azerbaijan e-Visa has been sent to the applicant by email, it should be printed before traveling. The travel document must then be shown to immigration officials when entering Azerbaijan.
Accompanying adults can show the approved visa on behalf of the child traveler, along with their passport and other required documents.
Azerbaijan e-Visa for children validity
Applicants are asked to provide their expected date of arrival on the e-Visa application form. The document is valid for 90 days from that date.
This means that the minor can enter Azerbaijan any time within those 90 days, and stay for up to 30 days. After the allocated time of validity, the visa holder cannot enter Azerbaijan with that visa.
The Azerbaijan e-Visa is a single-entry travel document. Children with an e-Visa can enter Azerbaijan once for 30 days. They cannot reenter the country using the same document.
